A calm first day

Day one sets the team's rhythm. After landing in Udon Thani we start with a welcome dinner so everyone can recover from the journey, then check in and rest before the first full learning day.

Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026

Students walk through gardens and displays from many concepts — the diversity of life, the relationship between people, water and plants, sustainable living, plants and biodiversity, green innovation, and designing spaces that live with nature. The mission is not to memorise everything: pick at least one thing that genuinely interests you and observe — “what here could Phuket use?”

Ton Tann Night Market Crew Challenge

The evening shifts from nature to city. Crews explore local food, consumer behaviour, shops, small businesses and the atmosphere of a creative space — practising time and budget management together.

Phu Wiang: Lost World Expedition

The day begins in the prehistoric world. Through geological evidence and dinosaur stories, students see how the land we live on today is the result of very long change.

ATV Adventure — responsible adventure

The adventure activity focuses on teamwork and responsible adventure. Participants must attend the safety briefing, wear the equipment required by the provider and use only permitted routes. Students who do not join or do not meet the conditions have an alternative activity with adult supervision.

Blue Lagoon Photo Mission

A scenic stop and photo mission, using local vehicles for the stretch that large coaches cannot reach. This activity is viewing and photography only — NO SWIMMING.

Phu Pha Man Bat Cave

In the evening we watch bats emerge from the cave — a natural phenomenon whose timing and numbers can change with weather and nature. The key learning is how to watch wildlife without disturbing it.

ATV — important preparation

Long trousers or sports clothing that moves easily
Closed-toe sneakers — no sandals during the activity
Tie back long hair neatly
Avoid light-coloured clothing if you worry about dust or dirt
Follow site staff and crew staff instructions at all times — never leave the route
If you feel unwell, dizzy, injured or unsure — tell a teacher before the activity starts

Wildlife watching rules

No loud noise and do not chase animals
Do not feed the animals
Leave no litter
Stay only in the areas set by staff / site rangers
With cameras and phones, avoid behaviour that disturbs animals and other visitors

The day starts by observing the city's public space — the relationship between the city, its people, quality of life and shared spaces — before the trip's closing mission.

Final Crew Challenge

Each crew has about 90 seconds to answer: “one thing Isan taught us that Phuket could use.” No PowerPoint — use what you actually saw over the past three days as your answer.

Columbo Craft Village

Learn about the local creative economy through art spaces, craft, small shops and creative studios — observing how creativity, identity and small spaces create value and income for a city.

Central Khon Kaen — Student Choice Lunch

Lunch is Student Choice at the food court: students choose their own food within the set time, then return to the meeting point on time for the airport departure.

Important rules at Central

Central is a lunch & travel break — not a long free-shopping period
Finish eating and use the toilet before the meeting time
13:30 back at the meeting point · 13:45 the coach leaves
Never go to other areas without telling a teacher or staff
Keep phone, money, wallet and belongings tidy before boarding

Before the flight home

Check your ID card / passport and boarding pass
Check nothing is left behind in your day pack

The ATV activity is booked with the provider. Participation still follows school consent and the provider's conditions — briefing, helmets, rotation and permitted routes. Students who do not ride join a supervised alternative. Blue Lagoon is a viewing and photo stop only, reached by local vehicle: no swimming.

Roles rotate. Missions are short, field-based and evidence-based — not long lectures or nightly written reports. Evidence may be an observation, photo or video, short crew answer, mini story or final pitch.

How teachers work

Welfare, supervision and learning observation

Teachers focus on student welfare, behaviour, participation and learning observation across all 4 crews; they are not fixed one teacher per crew and are not expected to run supplier logistics. Silver Hawk lead staff and the local guide manage route timing, suppliers, hotel, coach, activities and operational flow. Teachers make short daily observation notes, with school and operator headcounts cross-checked at key movement points.

Designed to run well without anyone improvising.

Teachers supervise the school group together with one Silver Hawk staff member travelling from Phuket and one local guide / operations support. The lead staff and guide run the agreed run sheet.

Air-conditioned charter coach; vehicle standard, permits and insurance confirmed with the supplier before departure

The schedule may adjust slightly for traffic, weather, venue opening hours and the group's safety. The organiser will keep the main activity structure and tell the school about any change that affects the programme. The goal of this trip is for everyone to come home with experiences, memories — and at least one idea for how travel can make the places we visit better.
