    A Thai Government update dated 16 Sep 2026 said Phase 1 was being prepared for Cabinet consideration around Dec 2026, with construction planned from Oct 2027 to Sep 2031. The announcement cited about 30 minutes on the existing route versus a projected 5 minutes via the tunnel, and projected 50,000–60,000 vehicles/day after opening.
