Principles informing PLC

The ideas behind how PLC is built.

PLC's system design is informed by regenerative tourism principles, the Global Biodiversity Framework and the TNFD LEAP approach. PLC's role is to help make local places, observations, evidence gaps, actions and learning more visible.

Important boundary — what this page is not
  • Not a certification of any kind.
  • Not proof that Phuket is already Nature Positive.
  • Not financial or ESG assurance.
  • Not a replacement for scientific assessment or public authorities.

Four guiding ideas

Four ideas that shape the system.

Nature Positive — a measurable direction

Nature Positive is a direction — measurable recovery of nature — not a label that PLC awards to anyone.

Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF)

Helps ask how Phuket's places, ecosystems and species should be cared for within the wider global picture.

TNFD LEAP approach

Helps organisations ask where they interact with nature, what they depend on and affect, what risks and opportunities exist, and how they prepare.

Regenerative Tourism

Asks how tourism and business can strengthen the place — not only reduce harm.
