A public field activity linking nature, learning and local participation — evidence that the PLC ecosystem is being tested in real conditions.

What happened

The activity brought together residents, youth and students, educators, community groups, tourism stakeholders and project and public-sector collaborators to learn together in real conditions — through nature discovery, citizen science, food waste and community learning.

Note: this is a record of a completed activity. Registration is closed, and no long-term ecological outcomes are claimed. Quantified results are only published once verified.

Learning intentions

  1. Understand connections between biodiversity, waste, food and quality of life in Phuket.
  2. Practise responsible field observation and Citizen Science.
  3. Identify one action the participant can continue after the activity.

Organisers and their roles

  • Regenera Thailand
    Programme design, place-based learning design, governance frameworks, assessment tools, AAR and advisory.
  • Phuket BiodiverCity
    Public-interest communication, community listening, environmental learning and public-safe storytelling.
  • Phuket Local Connect
    Registration, participation records, consent records, field evidence, reflection, review status and aggregated reporting.
  • Silver Hawk Group
    Separately contracted field operations — transport, guides, food and safety coordination.
  • Participating schools
    Approve student participation, supervise students, and decide whether hours are recognised under school criteria.

Information collected & consent

  • Only the minimum information necessary — such as age band, guardian/coordinator, and emergency information when required for safety.
  • Consent is separated: participation, photo/video, public storytelling, future contact.
  • A minor's full name, personal email, phone, home address, medical information, or school class is not publicly displayed.
Pilot limitations
  • PLC is not a government agency, an emergency service, or a certification body.
  • Community observations are not automatically verified science.
  • Public summaries use aggregated data to protect participant privacy.
